Twice in my life, I tried to make it big as a songwriter - both times I quit after my first rejection. Grit, perseverance, and resolve would have made all the difference. I would have been trying now for 30 years, and that certainly would have gotten me somewhere! Don't do what I did back then - learn to be rejection proof and keep moving forward!
