I’ve read through the book Get Rich In 5 Hours by Joe Herbert three times, and I pick up something new every time I read it. I’ve been friends with Joe for a year now – after I read his book, and I know that the concept of the title has been something that bothers him off and on, because a lot of people have commented that it’s a “get-rich-quick” book. I can assure you from the very beginning, that this is not the case.

Joe named his book because he knows that getting rich isn’t about the money, it’s about the mindset. And he’s confident that the information he included in the book is enough to change your mindset – to get you thinking in a way that will make you rich.

Brian Tracy says that the quality of your life is entirely dependent on the quality of your thinking. Change your thinking, change your life.

The book Get Rich In 5 Hours will change the way you think about a lot of things, therefore changing your life. Joe knows that it takes about 5 hours, give or take, to read his book. And if you let it change your mindset, then you will be rich after reading it. Because it’s not about the money. It’s about what you become. It’s about what you start doing. It’s about the actions and habits and disciplines that you begin to adopt in your life that will eventually get you what you want in 3, 5, 8, or 10 years.

But only if you act on what you learn.

Joe’s framework for organizing all you need to achieve a new mindset that will attract abundance into your life is called “The Six Life Assets.”

From the richest humans to the poorest, we all have these six assets, and if we can learn how to get the most out of each of these assets, we can begin our journey to an abundant life right now.

In future episodes of this show, I will get into more detail on what he has to say about these assets, but right now here is a short summary.

These are the assets that you have, right now

Asset #1 is your mindset. The way you choose to view the world, the way you choose to interpret anything that comes your way has a considerable impact on your future. Will you react or respond to events? Will you be positive or negative? Will you accept responsibility for your attitude, your demeanor, and your outlook on life, or will you give up control of all of that to outside people and events? On a sidenote, Joe Herbert obviously considers mindset to be of extreme importance, as the concept covers 109 pages of a 250 page book.

Asset #2 is people. You’re in luck – there are other people all around you. Some will be a positive influence, and some will be a negative influence. But they all have influence. We have this asset in abundance – people are all over the place. You may say that you don’t know the right people – but there is nothing keeping you from meeting the right people. The people themselves are the asset you have, but to maximize that asset, you have to reach out and meet them.

Asset #3 is time. We all have the same amount of time every day, from the poorest to the richest we have 24 hours. Rich people don’t get an extra 3 hours a day given to them. So why aren’t we all rich? It’s the value we invest into that time that determines our future. Will we waste the time on constant entertainment, or spend the time making other people’s dreams come true? Or will we use it to become better, stronger, and wiser? If you give up some “free time” for becoming stronger, instead of watching Netflix and eating potato chips, you’ll be amazed at the opportunities available to you.

Asset #4 is your knowledge. We are not stuck with the knowledge we have. We are not stuck with the skills we have. You can learn and grow all your life. Google and YouTube are the greatest universities around. And they are free – completely free at the library. There is nothing that you cannot learn, there is nothing that you cannot become. Your knowledge is an asset, and it can grow.

Asset #5 is your money. You have complete control over your finances – you can get lean and mean and save money – and use that money to make more money. You can turn a dollar into two or three dollars pretty easily, even if you have to beg for the first dollar.

Asset #6 is your health. Some people don’t do well because they don’t feel well. In general, your health can always be improved. And good health can be maintained. Whatever your health is right now, it’s an asset that you can maximize to help create your better future.

These are the six life assets, and I’ll have stories about each of them – to bring them forward in greater detail. If you want to pick up the book, you can find it on Amazon, the link is in the description.

In  your journal, write down which of these assets you need to work on first – and if you’re feeling bold, let us know about it in the Ideas and Concepts group on Facebook – the link is in the description!
